Are Gateway Netbooks Good? Yes, and Quite Affordable

July 7, 2010 by admin divider image

Gateway is an American company and yes, they sell quality laptops. As an observant computer user, you may have noticed that some Gateway netbooks are identical to models sold by Packard Bell in the UK. That’s because, nowadays, both Gateway and Packard Bell are subsidiaries of the Taiwanese laptop manufacturer Acer.

This is not to say that the quality of the brand has deteriorated – quite the opposite – thanks to the strong economic presence of its South East Asian financier, both of the above brands have actually improved in terms of customer satisfaction on both sides of the pond. A particularly popular model was the AMD-powered LT3100 series.  But I digress, the latest deals on Gateway netbooks are in, and they are as follows:

Gateway NetbookTigerDirect offers $60 off two Gateway netbooks, both with Windows 7 and Intel Atom processors, but with different hard drive and battery specifications. One of them is the LT2024u, with a 3-cell battery and 160GB hard drive that goes for $269.97 and a much more well-equipped variant, the LT2032u, with a longer-lasting 6-cell battery and 250GB of hard drive space that now sells for $289.97 – both with a $60 discount courtesy of TigerDirect.
