Inspiron Duo Officially Launched


Dell has now officially launched the Inspiron Duo–a laptop/tablet hybrid that can switch between an iPad-inspired tablet look or work just like a netbook. The computer, which was first exhibited in Berlin at IFA 2010 in September, will be available in U.S. stores the first week of December.
Inspiron Duo is based on a dual-core Atom N550 processor running at 1.5 gigahertz, the two gigabyte working memory and support for HD video, thanks to a hardware accelerator from Broadcom.
The screen is 10.1 inches with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Other features include a built-in microphone, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 320GB hard disk. The operating system is Windows 7. Battery life is indicated by the manufacturer to be close to four hours.
The Inspiron Duo is both a netbook and a surf plate makes your computer a bit larger and heavier than other tablets. It measures 285 x 194 x 26 millimeters and weighs just over 3 pounds.
